The process of critical appraisal involves identifying the appropriateness of the study for the social function of evidence based practice, ascertaining whether the studies have been conducted in a way which makes the results sensible, making sense of the results by analyzing the methodology of analysis and also understanding the meaning of the results i n the context of decision making (Burls, 2009).
